- Choose what you want your reminder to be based on: calendar or usage.
- Calendar – You set how many months you want the reminder to run, and when the reminder was last completed.
- Duration: How long the reminder will run. Set this in months. 3 Months is the default duration.
- Last Completed: Set the date when you last completed this reminder.
- (Example: I changed my air filter on May 28, 2020, so that will be my Last Completed date.)
- Runtime – This will calculate the reminder based on your system’s fan runtime.
- Note: If you are using Circulating Fan, this will also count.
- Calendar – You set how many months you want the reminder to run, and when the reminder was last completed.
- Add any Notes.
- This can include notes about the size of your filter, where you purchased it, or what type of maintenance you’d like to have performed.
- Save the reminder when you’re done.
After you’ve set up a reminder, you’ll see all the active reminders in the Service Reminder section, and a timeline of when the reminder will activate. You can also edit the reminder by tapping on it, if it is calendar based.
Reminder Notifications
Once the reminder is done, you’ll get an email and/or pop-up notification, depending on how you’ve set your notifications. To check how you’ll receive your reminder, navigate to your account settings.
- Open the Sensi app.
- Tap the person icon (iOS) or the 3 vertical dots (Android).
- Tap Email and Notifications.
- Under Service Reminders, you can toggle on/off whether you receive these notifications by email or push notifications on your phone.
Ending Notification
You can tap “Mark Complete” on the reminder when you’ve changed your filter or set your maintenance.
Call Contractor
If a registered contractor installed your thermostat, you may notice the you have a “Call Contractor” option on your reminder. Tapping this will allow you to call the installing contractor with any questions you have about system performance.
Usage Based versus Calendar Based
If you aren’t sure how to set your filter time, basing it on runtime or a calendar date, it depends on a lot of factors. If you have pets or allergens in your home that require you to change the filter more often, you may want to choose runtime based reminders. If you don’t, then you may just want to refer to the filter/humidifier pad/UV light manufacturer recommended duration using a specific time. Refer to your filter/humidifier pad/UV light manufacturer or contractor with questions on how to determine the best time to change these.
