A/C Protection is a setting available through the Sensi app. This feature helps prevent damage to your equipment when cooling is turned off and back on quickly.
When the 5-minute delay is active on the Sensi Smart Thermostat, the temperature set point on the wall unit will flash. After 5 minutes, the air conditioner or heat pump will start. The Sensi Touch has no indicator on the wall unit that the A/C Protection feature is active. You’ll need to check the Sensi app to see if the feature is “On” or not.
To enable the A/C Protection:
1. Open the Sensi app and select the thermostat you want to offset
2. (iOS users) Navigate to Settings by selecting the gear icon at the top right of the screen. (Android users) Navigate to Settings by selecting the three-dot menu button at the top right of the screen
3. Once under System settings, find the A/C Protection feature and toggle “on” or “off”
